I looked like a damn fool at the vet Wednesday. Even though Lily had a limp just hours prior, it completely disappeared once inside the office.

“She looks just fine to me.”

“No no no, she was limping…she so was.”

“Walk her down the hall. Again…One more time…Again…Again…Are you sure? She’s quite sprightly. “

Pill Popper

I kept insisting something was wrong so after checking each leg individually he gave her pills (just inflammatories).

What. An. Actress.

We’re going to celebrate her recovery tomorrow with a BBQ.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Dang, sounds like when I call the plumbers. I swear my toilet knows when the plumbers are around, because it magically stops leaking.

I’m glad that nothing serious happened to Lily-girl!

oh my gosh this was me last week. my little three legged pug was holding her leg up and couldn’t walk at all so i rushed her to the vet within the hour. the vet was like oh she just strained it, it will probably go away in a day or two, but i guess i’ll give you some anti inflammatorys” i felt silly.

I learned about this “phenomenon” in Vet Tech school. Dogs don’t like to show any kind of weakness in a vulnerable situation, so they put on their stoic face and hide what ever might make them out to be the “weaker link”. You’re not crazy! Lily just doesn’t want the Vet or any other puppies at the Vet to think she deserves to be picked out of the pack. Even after thousands of years of domestication, dogs can turn their instinct lights on in an instant.

    …or maybe she’s miraculously better!

Lucille is too much of a baby ham to pretend she’s fine in front of the Vet. She loves the attention way too much. But I can guarantee if another dog was in the room, she’d put her tough guy face on and walk it off lol

Dogs are so weird. Better to be safe than sorry though so it’s good you took her in to get it checked out. I’m glad she’s okay 🙂

Ha ha that happens to me every time I call the IT department at work. They now just think I am computer illiterate.

Our Frenchie has done that before, too! I keep thinking, we just wants us to stay home and give him quality time!

I know this is a few days old, but Cypress started limping inexplicably one day and the vet said her joints might need strengthening. At her recommendation we bought Phycox, which has a lot of oil and such to help build strong joints. It’s happened a few times since then but I think it was mostly just trauma that healed itself pretty easily.
