Almost There

January 6, 2012

All that’s left after the yoke is the button band and collar. It shouldn’t take too long to knit up but my armpit is getting tattooed tomorrow and the swelling might affect my knitting abilities. We’ll see.

Can’t wait to get it blocked so I can see the cables and openwork in all their glory.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday!

I’m so amazed on the things you make. I wish I could do that! LOL I’m trying to learn how to knit, but it’s not going well. I’m a mess! Any tips?

Thanks! 🙂 The most important thing is to NOT. GIVE. UP. When i first learned to knit I failed horribly and put the unfinished project away for a few years. Picked it up again and it just clicked. Eventually speed will increase, your tension will even out, and you’ll learn new techniques with every project. I prefer to learn from a book but I know a lot of people have had success with youtube videos. Also! Join ravelry.com! It’s a lovely community with thousands of helpful people and patterns. 🙂

Cool. Thanks for the tips! Okay, I won’t give up! What books should I check out? I bough this one book from Michaels and it’s okay.

Izznit you are 100% right. I started knitting back in the summer. After months of knitting what an improvement. Your right once your speed and tension work out, what a difference. I love this sweater you are making. So gorgeous. I am now investing in new and better yarn. Went to my lys yesterday, didn’t walk out empty handed. Just finished blocking another scarf.

Jen, my friends have had luck with Debbie Stoller’s Stitch ‘n Bitch book.
Cathy, good for you! I never walk out of my LYS empty handed either. Thank you as always 🙂

Thanks! It wasn’t too bad, just felt like… a needle stuck into your skin and dragged around for two hours 😉
