The End!

August 4, 2011

SWEDEN

We stayed in Visby which was right by the port.

Most of the time the skies looked like this…overcast & misty.

Visby, Gotland

We had ice cream (glass) every day. Panna cotta + hazelnut were my favorite. On the hunt for an L.A. place that has these flavors so help a girl out if you know any!

Local glass maker.

Local beer!

They had these sheep everywhere for people to sit on.

The night before my flight back to L.A. my aunt said I could raid her yarn stash and take whatever I wanted. I didn’t expect to find anything special but walked away with 12 brand new hanks of wool.  YES. I felt bad at first for taking so many but when she told me she only uses it to tie packages (she runs a toy shop) I figured I was doing the yarn a favor.

This is some Rowan felted tweed that I got from Liberty to make Akoya.

And a glass sheep I got from Sweden.

The grey yarn was purchased at a small farm shop and came from the sheep pictured below. It’s scratchier than what I’m used to but I still got two hanks. How can I go to Sweden and not buy wool?

I’m so happy to be home!!!

Good call on the beer. I would’ve choose that beer too, only because of the dog on the label. I know…isn’t that bad.

hazelnut is a pretty common flavor at gelato places… i’ve been able to get it at mochilato in irvine, and i’m sure some LA places would have it!
