You see how it looks a bit janky where the cables cross?

Silly me thought a C5B or C5F was a simple two over three cable. NOPE. Apparently you do something special. I have no idea how I missed this but I did…and I’m sad. Way sad.

After a few “MOMMA NOOOO!!!!”s to my Momma I calmed down. She said she’d finish the back the wrong way and just do the front correctly since no one will ever compare the two sides when worn.

I was a little unsure of doing that because I would know. I would know that I screwed up, that I thought I was a chart genius who didn’t have to look at pattern notes, and that I was too lazy to rip back.

Fellow knitters would also know. And point. And laugh. And cry. (yes, yes I am a drama queen)

*sigh* The plan for now is to just continue the correct way. I did a little tugging and it looks like the janky crosses will be OK if I add a few pins when blocking.

Oh noooo 😦 But it looks nice anyway! I’d continue the back wrong as well, though, you never know how much blocking can do – and it will definitely be easier to spot a “mistake” if there’s both the right and wrong way of doing it right next to each other…

Your momma must be so proud of you even though there was a slight mistake. At least you did realize you did something wrong, you learn that way. It is a gorgeous pattern, I always loved the cables.
