First Flat

February 8, 2011

I was making my way to L.A. this morning and wanted a cup of coffee for the road. My car started veering towards the left and I just thought the wheel alignment was off. I continued driving and noticed it getting more and more difficult to control. I pulled through the drive-thru and asked the baristas in the window if it looked like I had a flat tire and they confirmed it.

They tried their best to help me but 1. Mini Coopers DO NOT HAVE SPARE TIRES, 2.  No shops are open at 5:30AM for a patch job, and 3. I needed to be in L.A. in one hour.

I contemplated driving back to my house to switch cars since it was only five minutes away but it was too dangerous. My car was losing air really, really fast. It was so off that my wheel was turned over 180 degrees just to drive straight out of the drive-thru! I called my Dad for a pick up and pulled into a parking spot, coffee in hand.

Good news: I made it to L.A. in time

Bad news: I’m carless 😦

Another tire has to be purchased from the dealer and put on by one of their specialists.

Well, thank goodness that you are alright and that nobody got hurt!

It sucks being carless, especially in California. I guess, you better get lily a harness, so she can pull you to LA. Haha.

At least safe and no harm done. Good you were able to call you dad to help you out. I can just see you in your mini cooper “Cute as a button!” Plus Lily hope she is doing ok. Seeing she has her womanly thing going on.
