“Summer Flies” Shawl/Scarf/Bib/Crap
Pattern: Summer Flies by Donna Griffin
Yarn: Bernat Satin, Bordeaux 1.5 skeins
Needles: US7
Start/Finish: Aug 4/Aug 9, 2010
Comments: I didn’t plan on blocking this but after looking at the pictures I think I might have to. Everything I don’t like about it would be fixed–the ruffle edge would be less ruffley, the knotted openwork would be more open, and the entire thing would be less stiff. I was hoping to have a scarf in the end but it looks like a bib. Whoops. I’m sure I would have been more pleased with the un-blocked FO had I not used an acrylic yarn. Silly me forgot how much of a beast it is blocking (or “killing”) acrylic.
I could also do without the picot edge. PITA.
The color is accurate in the first pic, for some reason the color in the second pic is washed out.
My slight discontent has nothing to do with the pattern though, just my stupidity with yarn choice.
I love your shawl:)Hugs Darcy
