Boojiboo Apron Giveaway

July 5, 2010

The giveaway will run from now until 11:59PM July 18 PST. To enter all you have to do is comment on this post telling me what your ultimate pet peeve is. A nice change from the typical, “go to their store and tell me your favorite item!” The winner will get an apron of their choice.

Boojiboo’s Store (link)

I was wary of offering extra entries like “follow boojiboo on twitter bla bla” because it’s kind of like forced love and I don’t want that! But, if I don’t allow you to tweet or spread the word about this giveaway, it won’t get done since your own odds at winning would be compromised.

Soooo, for extra entries, you can…

–Tweet about this giveaway (up to three times): “Enter to win a @boojiboo apron by clicking the link! http://bit.ly/bVyduR

–Blog about this giveaway (one max and it can just be a mention, there doesn’t have to be a whole post dedicated to it)

–Tell me a pet horror story (one max, so make it GOOD ;))

Make sure you post a separate comment for each entry (1 comment with a link to the tweet, another with a link to the giveaway, another with your pet story)

Hopefully this won’t be a total bust… That would totally hurt my ego. I’ll pick a winner by July 20!

PS: Just wanted to mention that all orders placed in boojiboo and boojibootique’s store from July 6 to 19 will NOT ship until July 21!  There’ll be limited internet access, so convos and emails will be answered as soon as possible.

Oil spots on my shirt…that’s my pet peeve. When you don’t where your lovely Boojiboo apron, and you look down while trying to enjoy your meal, and see an oil spill…usually right on your boob in a rather embarrassing spot…Yep, I hate that!

My pet peeve is people who misuse, or mispronounce words (and then it’s even worse when they try to correct you on pronouncing/spelling things correctly. lol Examples: “irregardless” in place of “Regardless”, “Nuculear” instead of “nuclear”, “stoled” instead of “stole”… My god, it annoys me to type it!! lol

I love English and literature, and I am a big on proper spelling and grammar usage.

My pet horror story: Walking my dog along a lake, she found a dead fish washed up on the shore and stopped to stare at it. I yelled “NOOOOO!!” and tried to yank her leash away. She jumped on it and started to roll in it. I was at a loss for words. I panicked, yelled incoherently, and pulled her away. She looked SO happy rolling around on it, too! lol

My biggest pet peeve (aside from poor grammar) is the “silent noise.” Silent noises are sounds people make without realizing it…noises people make when they are being quiet. Silent noises do not include whistling, or humming to oneself. Someone sniffing uncontrollably due to a stuffy nose is a silent noise. Another example of a silent noise is the smacking of lips. This past semester, my boyfriend’s roommate recently developed the habit of lip-smacking. Either that or we had just never noticed it before. Anyway, my fellow and I would be lying on his bed reading or watching a movie when we’d be interrupted by The Roommate shuffling down the hall (he was also a noisy walker), fumbling with the door handle, and then plopping on his bed only to get out his laptop and incessantly licking and smacking his lips. This wasn’t all, though. We soon started noticing other silent noise habits. Sighing, clearing his throat, drumming his pencil on the edge of his computer. It got so bad that my boyfriend had to move in with me for the last two weeks of school. Which wasn’t SO bad…

I would say people who tell you how to do something you already know how to and carry the attitude like they are correct and just helped you better yourself. Happens to me at work a lot, and hello if its my job, i’m sure I know it better then you, thanks.

My biggest pet peeve is people who speak with their mouth full of food. It actually makes me feel nauseated. A member of my husband’s family (who must remain nameless) is the worst. I don’t know if it is the fact that he stuffs his mouth so full of food OR that he talks with his mouth open so wide! I literally can not look at him while he eats and, since he is always talking to me then, I am sure I seem very rude.

I actually get sick to my stomach even if I look away – it is like I know the food is there, just across the table, waiting for me to see it. Crazy – but there it is!

My biggest pet peeve is when people chew with their mouth open or talk with a bunch of food in their mouth. There is nothing more disgusting than trying to eat nice meal and have it ruined by the sloshing of food in their mouth or being able to see it while they are eating. Get some manners people!

    A pet horror story…

We had a cat when I was growing up. We took her in when she realized she was pregnant. She gave birth to the most adorable litter of kittens, and of course we wound up keeping a pair. The runt of the litter was always so entitled! We named her Darling, and the little fluffy white princess that she was, she could get away with anything. Until the furniture started to suffer from her claws, that is. Someone told us to loop clear packing tape along the arms and backs of the couches and chairs to get her to stop – she wouldn’t like the feeling of the tape on her paws. One day, she forgot about the tape and jumped on the back of the larger couch. True to promise, she didn’t like the feel, and was startled. So, she jumped. The tape ripped off the whole length of the couch and went with her. It was tangled in her long hair, and clung terribly to her. She was frantic. It got more snarled around her back feet as she ran, until the poor thing was a tripod with her back legs bound. Still, she gave the tape monster quite a chase over and under furniture until my mom could catch her. Her heart was beating a million miles an hour. If we hadn’t been home, she’d have probably given herself a heart attack! Quite a bit of trauma for so small a cat! She gave the couch a wide berth for many months, but continued to scratch the other chairs once the tape was safely removed.

Let’s see…my biggest pet peeve is probably when people fish for attention/sympathy by posting dramatic but vague facebook messages, especially when they leave them up for a day or two without responding to let the “OMG!1! RU OK?!?” comments accumulate.

My per horror story was from when I was babysitting for a family with an elderly cat and the cat DIED. It was laying down at the foot of the stairs like it was asleep and I didn’t realize it had passed until the toddler I was watching was trying to pet it and was sweeping the floor with it. The cat didn’t move so I felt it and it was cold. I said something about it being very sleepy, distracted him and put him to bed. When the parents came home, the mom saw the cat right away and lost her mind, which was understandable, but it left my teenage self standing there watching her wail and writhe around on the floor in an evening dress, not being sure how to ask for my money or a ride home. Eventually the dad (whom I had only briefly said hello to once before) came in, wrote a check, and drove me home without speaking.
(I am a cat owner and I did feel very bad for them, but can you say AWKWARD?)

My biggest pet peeve is people who chew with their mouths open, I used to have a roommate who did this so badly that I would have to leave the room while she was eating.

Once I had a candle burning on a table next to the couch… I smelled something funny and when I looked over I saw that my cats tail was on fire. I screamed and grabbed him and snuffed it out…he didn’t seem to mind being on fire and was more upset and my screaming I think.

Love, love, love these aprons…fresh and unique! My biggest pet peeve would have to be chronic complainers. Everyone has a bad day but singing the bad bear club every day is a real downer. I just want to go over, give ’em a hug and shake them back to reality! Life is too short. Scream if you need to and its really that bad, but then pick yourself up and move on. It all passes…

Here’s to loving life girls! Hope you have a blessed day :0) Jen

I think my biggest pet peeve is people who don’t R.S.V.P. How am I to know who’s coming and who’s not? I hate having to make follow up phone calls to check. I feel like I’m begging them to come!

My pet horror story just happened last week! My 10 month old cock-a-poo puppy found a Sharpie I accidently left out. He ate it and of course he was sick for five days, but he also got blue ink all over the couch and himself!

My Pet Peeve is when I go to the grocery store and I see someone buying a ton of junk food like chips, ice cream, sodas, candies, and they pull out their food stamps card to pay for it all!! I work hard for my money and cant afford to get stuff like that all the time. I try to get healthy foods that cost more so I have to buy less. I wish the government could regulate the foods that one can buy with their food stamp card to healthy foods and they have to buy the bad stuff with their own money. My sister has food stamps and I can on her all the time about buying junk…

My pet horror story is around a Dalmation puppy named Cricket. Like most puppies, she was very curious about everything. One spring day I went out into the yard to check on her because was very quiet. I found her in the corner of the yard chewing on something but crying at the same time…she was chewing on a bee hive and the bees were stinging her!! I grabbed the water hose and sprayed her down, trying to drown the bees (I didnt want to get stung too!). That didn’t work so well, so I grabbed her up and pulled her inside as fast as I could. She had stingers stuck in her cheeks, ears, face, all over her head basically. We had to hold her down to pull them out one by one with tweezers, and then took her to the vet, but he was closed! So we gave her a cool bath and could only feed her ice chips and wet food because her poor face was so swollen. Needless to say, she never went in that corner of the yard again.

P.S. She was fine after a few days 🙂

My biggest pet peeve at the moment are people who seem to have the Well-I disease. You know, you’re telling a story, any story at all, and this person simply *must* top it with their own, usually begining by saying, “Well, I…”
    Grrr…makes me grind my teeth!

My pet peeve? Spills and stains on my clothing.
(The reason I landed on this site to begin with.)
I am a SAHM and I am tired of wearing old tee shirts and sweats so that spills and stains don’t ruin my “regular” clothing while I’m performing my everyday tasks.
I can’t think of a better solution than wearing adorable aprons like these.
Contest or no contest, I am so thrilled that I found these aprons.
