Hey Hey Hey 2014

January 7, 2014

I didn’t make any resolutions this year but I did do some major planning…I’m going backpacking! For a month!

My best friend and I will start in Spain and work our way through France to Amsterdam. From there we’ll book it to Switzerland for a ten day hike (TMB) and if we survive, we’ll take a train to Italy to recoup. This is probably the craziest thing I’ve ever agreed to but crazy is good, right?

If any of you have tips, advice, or resources to share I’d greatly appreciate it. My Mother would, too.

I started a test-knit for Karoline last week and it’s coming along nicely. It’s a beanie with a simple colorwork pattern. She’ll be releasing it soon! Project page is here.

Happy new year, happy Tuesday.

Aww man backpacking sounds so cool!! I’d love to do something like that but I have a skin condition that HATES long bouts of physical activity, prolonged sun exposure, changes in temperature, insect bites… you know, all the fun stuff that probably comes with backpacking across some amazing places lol!! PLEASE post a million pictures so I can live vicariously through your adventures. Have fun!

That sounds wonderful!! Geez. Take a fuckton of pictures and have fun!!! (And blog about it, if you feel so inclined. Living vicariously is fun, if a little jealousy-inducing.) ;)

Given that route, travel through Germany a little, maybe down the Rhine to Switzerland. And what about Belgium? Antwerp, Bruges, Gent – ? It makes me a little sad that you leave Germany out on the way. Plan a day or two inbetween, and of course feel free to e-mail me if you like more specifics. Other than that: Safe travels and a ton of impressions and experiences!
