Hugo + Some Updates

September 12, 2012

I have five high-quality (non-iPhone) photos of Hugo. Pretty ridiculous considering his face looks like THIS.

THIS face.

His photos made me realize I need to start carrying my DSLR again. The iPhone, while convenient, doesn’t even compare quality-wise. I forgot for a second there πŸ˜‰

Hugo’s been with us for almost five months now and I’m happy to report that he and Lily are BFFs. I was really concerned I wouldn’t be able to handle two on my own but it’s actually a little easier as they keep each other entertained. Β His separation anxiety has disappeared and I think he knows he’s with us for the long haul.

I know I haven’t posted that much craftiness lately but with good reason. I’m putting together a small clothing collection! It’s not for retail or anything major, just my portfolio. I’ve grown a lot since I first started and my portfolio needs to reflect that.

I’ve been able to sneak in some knitting at night and have two projects on the needles. One is a cardigan that hasn’t reached the photographable state yet and the other has to be kept secret until the end of the month.

I have a dentist appointment today and I think they’re going to tell me if busting my jaw is really necessary. Wish me luck.

Ugh, they might BREAK your jaw?! I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen. And I agree you should carry around your DSLR more because that picture is lovely!

Awww hugo! ❀ What a handsome fellow. I was just thinking a few minutes ago that 2 is easier because as i type this, my guys are playing outside together and i don't have to feel guilty for not using up some of their energy. They do it themselves hehe. That's great about your new collection! Best of luck πŸ™‚

I’m trying to convince my parents (the dogs’ babysitters when I’m away) that three frenchies would be even EASIER πŸ˜‰ Thanks!

Hugo is too cute! I agree with you about having two dogs– we just adopted a second one in June, and she totally keeps my older dog entertained and less neurotic. Plus it’s 2x the snuggle! Hope you get good news from the dentist… :/

Lily’s less antsy too. I wish I would have gotten a second dog sooner, but that might’ve meant never getting Hugo and I can’t imagine him anywhere else. Thank you! πŸ™‚

Two frenchies, my idea of heaven!! He’s such a cutie though. I love how even though all frenchies have the same squishy faces they can still look so different and individual.

Yep, before I owned a frenchie I thought they all looked the same. I didn’t know their size varied so much, either!

So happy to hear little Hugo is adjusting! Will you share photos of your portfolio when it’s finished? I’d love to see!! I just found out the University of Vermont has courses in costume design and I’m reaaaalllllyyyyy tempted to go back to school!!! I have no idea what I’d do with that degree since I wouldn’t want to move to a big city, but seriously. ….how cool would that be? Rochelle the costume designer. I can see it now lol

Maybe, I haven’t decided. It’s scary putting my own designs out there. With knitting it’s someone elses, know what I mean? And costume design is amazing! I considered that but soon realized it wasn’t for me. I have some friends that work in that department and it’s a lot of fun but it takes a certain type of person. And hehe, don’t forget your ol’ blog friends.

Lovely picture of Hugo there! I do the same thing with my iPhone.. Its just so much more convenient (especially with the apps) and while the quality is impressive for a phone camera, its still no match for a real thing, even if a cheap point-and-shoot and much less a DSLR…

Thank you, and you’re right! If only they could make an iphone-sized DSLR…;)

Aww that sweet face! I feel the same way about carrying my camera more for personal stuff too. Doing Project 365 really helped me with that, but I’m thinking next year I’ll really dig into Project 52 instead. Can’t wait to see what you’re working on!

I just feel like a total idiot when I pull out my DSLR at a restaurant like Bottega Louie, even if it’s to take pictures of my friends and not the food! Project 52 seems more manageable. I don’t have a great track record with photo projects though (0 for 2 :().
