Lace and Cable Socks
October 16, 2010
Woop!
I’m no longer stuck with just one!
Pattern: Lace and Cable Socks from Socks from the Toe Up by Wendy Johnson
Yarn: Berroco Ultra Alpaca (fine maybe? Not sure…)
Needles: US2
Notes: Didn’t think to mirror the pattern until I saw the finished photos. Damn. Used the Russian bind off (modified).
I should start buying less boring colors for my socks…might as well make them as obnoxious as possible since they never see the light of day, right?
So even though these socks took me almost a year to finish, are in the most boring color, and have a not-so-great pattern, they are my most comfortable and best-fitting pair.
YAY, SO glad to be finished!!!

yeah, i often use socks as an excuse to knit in obnoxious colors that i secretly love but can’t actually wear with dignity. i made some hot pink ones last year, and i have some bright turquoise yarn on deck for a new pair. thanks so much for the bag– i just blogged about it this afternoon!
I have that book too! We seem to have similar taste in knitting books
Those socks look lovely in your version as well as the book – I’ll really have to give them a go.
Lovely socks, i would love to make myself some sock as i buy very bright ones for indoors! i like the colour you chose as well.
